The Gospel for the commemoration of all the faithful departed is taken from John 6:37 40th verse. Jesus said to the crowds, everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me. Because I came down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of the One who sent me. And this is the will of the One who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life. And I shall raise him on the last day.

Today’s feast celebrates the great mystery of the communion of saints. We believe with all our hearts that this group of people who have been saved not through their actions, but through the mercy of God, are now dwelling in a place where. Where we can be in contact with them. We can pray for them. They pray for us. What a beautiful example Jesus gives us of all the things that he’s planned so that the kingdom of God will come.

And the kingdom is much larger than we realize. It is made up of God himself, the angels, those who have died, the communities we live in. We are truly blessed by this great company that call us to the fullness of life. Foreign Closing Prayer Father, open us to the great mysteries of the fullness of the kingdom of God. It is filled with promises of goodness and life and should fill us with hope and dispel all fear. And we ask this in Jesus name.

Amen.
