About Pastoral Reflections Institutes
About Pastoral Reflections Institutes
Founded in 2009 by Monsignor Don Fischer, Pastoral Reflections Institute began as a mission to expand his Sunday homilies to a wider audience. With over 35 years of ministry—including radio, university chaplaincy, and parish leadership—Msgr. Don envisioned a space for deeper spiritual encounter outside of the traditional parish setting. Since then, PRI has offered retreats, pilgrimages, online homilies, and spiritual resources grounded in the Catholic tradition and open to all seeking divine connection. We are dedicated to awakening all to the abundance of God’s loving presence made manifest in our humanity. We explore and teach this universal spiritual truth through podcasts, radio, online videos, printed and audio materials, seminars, lecture series, and retreats. We are committed to sharing the power and richness of a spiritual life based on the teaching of Jesus Christ, who won for us the possibility of an intimate union with God.
After leaving the University of Dallas as chaplain, Don began a unique ministry of presenting his Sunday homily on the radio that reached people across the metroplex. Don realized the importance of sharing this ministry with a much broader audience than just his parishioners—so in 1987, Pastoral Reflections, the radio program, was born.
In the spring of 2009, shortly before retiring from 43 years of active parish ministry, Don founded Pastoral Reflections Institute (PRI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions to PRI not only fund the production and publication costs of the radio program and homilies, but also enable PRI to offer retreats, pilgrimages, lectures, and workshops. All of these ministries allow participants to deepen and enrich their understanding of their spiritual journey.
