Good morning. I want to talk to you this morning about something that I think is so essential. If you want to be the person that God has intended you to be, if you want to be in relationship with people that are healthy, and that is paying attention to your intention. Intention. What is it? It’s the thing that’s deep inside of you that whenever you’re communicating, whenever you’re doing anything, it is the most honest core feeling that’s in you.

It’s how you see the world. And yet it’s so interesting to me that when we communicate with even ourselves, talk to ourselves, reflect on who we are, but more importantly, when we talk to each other, we think that if whatever we say is all that matters, if I don’t like the person, I say, hey, how are you? I hope you’re doing well. We think we’ve just said something that is going to be communicated to the person and they’ll receive it because we said it. Well, that may be true for some people in terms of the receiving of that kind of statement. But there’s something about human beings that evolve and develop that they become extremely sensitive not to words, but to the thing that’s behind the words.

And that’s your intention. If you walk into a room and you’re convinced that what you’re there for is you want people to recognize you. You want them to know the things you’ve done. You want them to be caught up in some kind of respect for you. And you start talking about yourself and you’re thinking in your mind, I’m just talking about what I’m doing. But the intention is actually overriding your words in your brain, the way it works.

And that intention is going to come out in your words. You know those people that don’t realize it, but they talk unconsciously about what they’ve achieved or what they have or what they’ve done or the people they know that are important. And you can go to that person and you say, hey, do you realize you’re always talking about the important people that you know? And you say, no, I don’t. No, I don’t. That’s another part of intention that’s really important to pay attention to, because without you realizing it, there’s something deep in a human being that wants to be.

That needs to be honest. And so even though we may be choosing words that are phony and manipulative, still without even realizing it, that’s really affecting the way we talk. And if you’re a little bit sensitive to people that have an Intention that’s off. You’re going to know it, you’re going to feel it, but you’re going to hear it in their words. So pay attention to your intention. What is it I want to do in this situation?

What do I want a day to be? Like when you wake up in the morning and you say I got to get the most out of this day that I possibly can. If that’s your intent, I want to get most of the things on my list done. That’s all I have is my intention. You’re going to be kind of a bulldozer through that day. But if your intention is to do that and to be connected to people and a life source for people, if that’s the intention, people are going to be so blessed by you because that’s the thing that’s going to be communicated.

Information is important, but nothing is as important as the flow of life that’s in you. God given life in you that can flow between you and another person without your intention that that’s what you want to do. It’s like you have a kink in the hose and life giving water can’t flow. So it is important to pay attention to your intention and just ask God over and over again, help me to be the person you’ve called me to be. Help me to want to be that person. That’s my intention.

And then you’re a true life giver.
